It gave me the opportunity and incentive to showcase my work using the popular medium of online video. My video submission captured more than two years of my life in under five minutes, which was an incredibly hard thing to do. But it is valuable, as I can share my story in a fun way with new friends and colleagues, without boring them with a lengthy text document. The Alterna Savings Making a Difference Ogrant gave me and other young leaders an innovative platform to share our stories with the world. I'd especially like to thank Ogrant for this amazing opportunity. Any form of post-secondary school is very expensive these days and mine is no exception. This grant means I will be $1500 closer to paying off my loan when I am finished school and that is a great feeling. I worked really hard on my ogrant application and I'm very pleased my effort has been recognized. Thanks again! :-) Awardee: novascotian8 View Application Amount Awarded: $1000 The Rethink Breast Cancer Ogrant I discovered Ogrant in an ad on a website months ago - I thought it was a neat idea so I went and checked it out. I was instantly drawn to the Rethink Ogrant, and an idea popped into my head right away. I am happy that I was given the chance to participate, and very thankful to Rethink & Ogrant for the opportortunity, generosity and support for my education. Where I am not eligible for student loans, my education is costing me a pretty penny - this $1000 grant will help take a lot of stress off and allow me to focus on my classes, rather than how I will pay for them. Thank you so very much! Awardee: addy View Application Amount Awarded: $500 The Scholarships Canada Ogrant I sincerely thank Ogrant and Scholarships Canada for awarding me this Ogrant. It required much time and effort for me to make the film, and the patience of my friends. This grant gave students the chance to express their need and the things they've given up, as well as being able to use their creative abilities. This was the first time I've ever created a video, and it won't be the last! Thank you Ogrant and Scholarships Canada for helping me get one step closer to paying for my Vocal Performance university education. Awardee: Mud View Application Amount Awarded: $1000 The Scholarships Canada Ogrant I am greatful for the opportunity Ogrant has provided me to use my creativity for a chance to earn money to help pay for my tuition. There are so many scholarships available that students can apply for, but there are not too many that allow canidates to express themselves through their ingenuity. This grant is going to help pay for my education, and I was able to attain in such a way that was fun, artistic, and informative. What better way to pay for school? Thanks Ogrant! Awardee: groundhog593 View Application Amount Awarded: $1000 The TakingITGlobal Ogrant I know a lot of University students who go through hell to pay for school. This website has opened up a discussion on that topic. I am so grateful for this grant, which will decrease my struggle and debt-load, but my struggle won't disappear. Other's struggles won't disappear. I think the more grants there are, the better. However, I hope that students and society think about how access to money affects access to education at this level of study, and question whether that reality is right. I hope this reflection leads to further steps to make education free for students. Thank you, Ogrant!
